I have a 2004 Passat4 door according to the installation instructions listed for this product. First, it's a beautiful piece and a great price. But she doesn't fit. At first glance it looks like an exact copy, but the clip on the guard near the handle is molded snugly to the guard and does not engage the hardware in the door. There is no result regardless of pressure to force it to be inserted. Second, the holes were made where the small molding for the other half of the handle wasn't fully machined, and as a result the pieces won't hold together. I tried and did fix it with a Dremel, but the first point prevented me from enjoying the product.
