Thanks OrCam (and Bryce)!

We purchased the Revain OrCam MyEye 2 for our visually impaired 28 year old son who uses a walking stick and reads Braille with light and dark perception. While living in England he found out about the previous OrCam MyEye and scheduled a demo with a rep which went well. Now, back in the US, he just received his OrCam MyEye 2. The device is amazing, it has touch controls and it also uses voice commands. This MyEye 2 supports primary and secondary languages (additional languages can be added at additional cost). It can be programmed to recognize faces. Our son is trying to identify our cats with a different identifier. He reads the text; Newspapers, magazines, books, mail, menus, posters. you get a picture. In addition, it can read currencies, products, labels, barcodes, street signs, shop signs, etc. The device attaches to the side of a pair of glasses (included or you can use your own) which has a tiny speaker on it The back of a small device, speaks privately as it sits right next to the ear and has a tiny camera lens in front. Our son is just learning to use various functions. It tells him if one or more people are within his visual acuity and identifies those people if their faces are pre-programmed. He looks forward to trying, reading and choosing products at the grocery store. He is also allergic and would like to check the ingredients of the product himself rather than relying on the grocer assigned. This device offers so much more, including another guarantee of independence. Our son strives and fights for an independent life and work in this world. He received a bachelor's degree and then lived in England to pursue a double master's degree. He is a writer, published author, certified professional speaker and volunteer tutor to immigrant students. With all his skills, knowledge and technology, he lives in a frustrating reality that requires urgent and sometimes unexpected visual aid to complete a simple task. This OrCam MyEye 2 is a big step forward in assisting the visually impaired on their journey to independence. While OrCam is currently shopping through Revain, which we have used, they still provide a great service. Bryce from OrCam Customer Service was great from the start. He contacted us right after buying Revain and is still testing us as a buyer and separately our son as a user. In the past (and hopefully in the future) we have understood that they would schedule a home visit for a customer for training (or a potential customer for a demonstration, as our son had previously done). You now have a complete set of online video tutorials. So far, Brice and OrCam have done everything for us. For more information I would suggest you visit their website see OrCam or OrCam MyEye2. They also have other great products.
