Toners have changed a lot over the years. Many toners seem to be hybrids of a toner and serum, and while they balance the pH, they also linger on the skin a bit. There's nothing wrong with that, except that they can interfere with the absorption of moisturizers or make makeup application difficult. This Obagi toner is what I think a toner should be. It removes all of my cleanser residue, balances the pH and closes the pores, leaving my skin smooth, firm and ready for the next step of serum, moisturizer etc. Because honestly, when you use expensive moisturizers, you want them to absorb the product as much as possible. You don't get what you paid for if your toner leaves a film. It's odorless, easy to dose, and primes my skin without stripping it off. In my experience, it's almost the perfect pick-me-up.
