It's a shame it's no longer available. I bought my second one in 2015 - the glass on No. 1 broke. I still use the fountain and the cats love it. Tips: It's not so much your water as your cat. Second, bacteria love plastic. It sticks to it and then forms a shield around it. It's hard to clean. Therefore, wash the plastic parts of the filter in hot soapy water, rinse well and soak with hydrogen peroxide. Clean the parts and the filter housing with a toothbrush. And don't forget the pump. Take it apart, clean the lid and diverter. Soak everything in peroxide. Scrub the parts and inside with a toothbrush but try not to get inside the pump or you could break the wire and it wouldn't work. Bacteria don't stick as well to stainless steel. But wash in hot soapy water and non-scratch cleaning pad. It takes me 15 minutes or less for maintenance every two weeks. I have had this fountain for 6-7 years. My cats consistently live to be 20 years or more.
