I definitely think these waterproof changing pads are a good thing. Sometimes they can still be a pain. Maybe I just don't have them right, but they seem to have come loose at a corner or two. It is very easy to clean and wash. The print wasn't as cute as I expected, but that's just my personal opinion. Might be a super cute insert for someone else design wise. A waterproof cover is definitely needed over non-waterproof covers as they keep the changing pad itself alive.
