Review on 🚿 Camco 11691 RV Water Heater Tank Rinser – Efficient Sediment Removal & Extended Lifespan for Your RV Water Heater by Scott Hall

I needed to replace the anode rod in my suburban water heater on my RV. Anode rods are sacrificial devices designed to slowly disintegrate as water is heated over time. This decomposition creates small "metal" particles that collect at the bottom of the heater tank. When replacing the anode, it is best to flush these metal particles out of the tank before installing the new anode. Hence the purchase. I poured dish soap on my garden hose, turned on the faucet and stopped the water flow as I walked to the RV. Remove the anode rod, insert the purge tube into the tank and depressurize. The wand WAS OUT OF HAND AND NOW IN THE TANK! Poor build quality for a $10-$15 plastic nozzle. I managed to fish the stick out of the aquarium with pliers. I had to put my own clamp on the handle to attach it. After the repair, the rod does what it is supposed to do. It's amazing how much metal debris came out of this reservoir. This is what I will use when I change the anode rod. I was lucky that I was able to get the wand out of the tank. If it had bent I'm not sure I could fish it out by looking through the 3/4 hole in a very dark place. It works, but Camco needs to improve the quality control of its tools.
