When I first tried this with my X100S and a good quality black and white filter, I was concerned that the threads were cut completely wrong because I couldn't thread the holder filter Chamber or filter without using more torque than I thought was appropriate. I also have Vello's version of the same lens hood/mount which has silky smooth threads for comparison. However, before I throw away that EzPhoto lens hood that better suits my black camera, I bought the cheapest filter I could find to turn it on and see how bad it really is. After making sure the new filter's threads matched other filters and holders I know of, I slipped them onto each end of the EzPhoto holder. He was able to fully tighten the threads with sufficient force without damaging the threads on the mount or filter. So with more confidence I went ahead and mounted the holder on the camera and my good filter on the holder. It's not running smoothly yet, but it works. This item looks good and I will use it but I can't give it a very high rating due to the poor carving work.
