Review on ๐Ÿท DOFURNILIM Industrial Bar Carts: Versatile, Mobile Storage Solution for Wine, Tea, and Liquor with Solid Wood and Metal Construction by Gerald Mcrae

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The devil is in the details.

The finished product looks good from a distance and we are happy with how it goes with our bar decor. It serves as a cart for Scotch whiskey and hearty drinks. Now for the reasons for the mediocre rating. Assembly is similar to production, not assembly. The only thing that is pre-drilled is the base plate for the wheels. Other plates do not have a pre-drilled hole. I had the tools to pre-drill holes and power plunge the 60's or make the screws needed to assemble it. If you have the tools and patience, it's just a matter of time and perseverance. The finish on the boards is terrible. Look closely at the picture of the panel and you will see distinct swirls in the stain which are a result of a poorly applied mechanical stain. If you wipe the finish with microfiber, it sticks to the point where it's worthless. The surface is not polished. Zero quality control. One of the connection collets had a slug of metal preventing it from laying flat (see photo). I had to use a Dremmel tool to sand it down. Bad quality control. The instructions say to leave everything loose during assembly (build), but there's never a good time to make sure everything is tight. The pipe fittings are tightened on the right. If the opposite collets were left tight, you could just tighten everything up like a home joint. Finally, the middle shelf is too short for many bottles. A standard height whiskey bottle will not work. If they added just two more inches that would be great. The difference in cost and difference in overall height would be negligible. Time will tell how it will hold up. For the money I expected better.
