Screws on and heats up great. I won't know how well it works until the temp drops, but if my calculations are correct, it's a 1700 watt heating element, so it should work great on my small RV. I've read that it can be installed from inside the camper, but after a few tries and a few bent fins on the air con I gave up and pulled the cover off the top and it went in easily! It would be nice if the heating was integrated and always there.
