I haven't used it for working out. But material is very thin so expect it to rip and not hold up for tough work outs.That being said, its also VERY see through. I wore nude underwear and you can see it clearly. Even if i ordered a size up it wouldn't help. Material is thin.I bought it specifically for private home workouts so im not concerned about it being see through.The fit is nice. a little snug but i expected it. I see it stretching out over time though.I am a size 12- 14 in jeans. And i ordered a large. Size 16 should be xl.I recommend baleaf brand leggings. I ordered their bike shorts and they are comfy and have tummy control. They are pricier but worth it. I only ordered these because i wanted cotton material
