Digitizer replacement for iPad 3 - good replacement part

I damaged the original digitizer cable when opening my iPad 3 to change the battery. I searched all over the internet for a replacement and found that all stores including ifixit only sell non-original digitizers at higher prices. This digitizer arrived on time and well packaged. The quality of this digitizer seems good compared to the original, but time will tell. Installation was easy and quick; went the same as with the OEM product. After a few days the tape seems to be holding up very well; There are no visible gaps around the edges where the digitizer meets the bezel. Responds normally to touch, no abnormal behavior. After changing the battery and unfortunately also the digitizer, my iPad 3 looks and behaves like new. I see no point in feeding money to Apple on a regular basis. I spent time cleaning the bezel and case edge of what was left of the original glue. I used cotton swabs. Googone, a plastic scraper, and then rubbing alcohol to remove grease until surfaces are super clean. Then I glued thin double-sided tape in the bezel groove. I trimmed the excess tape with a sharp knife and attached the bezel so it would remain stable on the case ready for the new digitizer to be installed. After I installed the LCD screen I cleaned it and I had a can of compressed air. Ready to blow out all particles right before final assembly. I then removed the protective film from the glass and tapes, blew off the dust and reassembled the digitizer and case which snapped nicely onto the faceplate. I warmed up all the edges a bit with a hair dryer and with a little effort pressed the digitizer around the edges until it cooled down. Overall, it took 20 minutes to clean, 10 minutes to glue the bezel to the case, and to assemble the entire case. Parts like connecting the LCD and digitizer cables, installing the LCD, etc. took another 10 minutes to get the iPad up and running. The whole operation was over in about 40 minutes. Conclusion: I would buy this product again and recommend it to friends. Reviewed by paulkosm.
