This grip is soft enough for my pinky/ring finger holding the bottom of the controller. The palm contours were perfect, unlike other brands of cleats that I tried but ended up not using as my grip and gameplay doesn't require a palm grip. The thumb grips that came with this controller case were also of better quality as they were made from slightly thicker silicone with a thicker lip/gasket for better grip on the sticks (again compared to another brand that has thinner lips/ Had seals that barely held onto the sticks.Update: May 28, 2019 Still using the same slide after 4 months. I wash it in hot water and wring/desaturate a damp paper towel with some dish soap and immediately pat dry. The wrap is a little looser than when you first used it, but still offers enough grip to play with, especially after a quick 3 minute clean/dry. I just use the thumb grip on my right joystick more because I need full movement on my left joystick. The thumb grips actually rub against the sleeve - when fully rotated - which pulls on the sleeve. So I hold the left stick open [no thumb grip]. Update: June 21, 2019 Bought a second one to replace the now stretchy and permanently greasy grip. Still a better grip IMO hence the repurchase.
