This is definitely a recommended item when purchasing a replacement ACDelco 251-731 GM water pump. There were issues between this water pump and a cheaper alternative, both made by ACDelco. The difference seems to be that it has a steel impeller and not cast iron. The steel impeller makes it a bit more premium, which is the reason for the higher price.
