This two stage air pump is ideal for 12V (car/truck) electricity. Anything beyond that will blow the vehicle's "charging port" fuse. It starts at stage 1 (high volume/low pressure), around 1-3psi, and then automatically switches to stage 2 (low volume/high pressure) for the remaining 3-20psi. This pump has proven to be effective, especially when it comes to the higher demands of 8-15psi commonly encountered with SUP boards. The only downside is that on a very few occasions this pump doesn't automatically switch from stage 1 to stage 2, but when it does all I have to do is quickly toggle the PWR switch off and back on and then it goes straight to stage- 2 and pumps to my preset PSI setting. I am very happy with this 2 stage air pump and it feels so good to finally not be completely exhausted before leaving the parking lot! FYI - ALWAYS run the engine while pumping to get the most power from the booster to the pump. Trust me, your car's battery will thank you later when you hit the road.
