Review on Collision Quadcopter Inspire Phantom Typhoon by John Raj

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good choice for night or civil twilight flying

With the new FAA rules allowing for no-deviation night flying, I decided to have a strobe light that can be used occasionally my Mavic 2 and Mini 2 could be exchanged. With the latter, the flash had to be small and light. After some online shopping and reading reviews, I settled on a TopSun flash light. It arrived quickly and was exactly as described on the Revain listing. I've tested it but haven't flown it yet; However, I look forward to doing so soon. While I haven't actually measured the light output, I can say it's very bright and should meet FAA requirements for 3 mile visibility and pulse rate. The strobe comes with hook and loop attachments for attaching to the drone, and there is also a spring clip on the back of the unit. Charges via a short USB cable. Enjoy the night flight!

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
