This is a cool little cabinet. I don't use it for bread, it stores my rarely used wine/whisky/shot glasses so they don't get dusty (or cat hair. Please forgive the cat hair covered chair cover. I have cats). Other than that, the drawer and door work exactly as promised. By the way, the door is made of transparent plastic. I agree, I just know how much I thought before ordering and couldn't figure it out (sorry if you mentioned this fact in any of your reviews, I must have missed it). It came with a very nice and good quality screwdriver already magnetized which I really liked. I ended up needing a small flashlight and a hammer. The assembly was fairly intuitive, which is good since the instructions are mostly pictorial and not all parts are labeled. I recommend putting the door in place early in the assembly process, otherwise you'll have to do what I did, unscrew one side far enough to attach the door and its Frankenstein bars. It worked, but it hurt a little. Now it's on a shelf in my living room, doing its job. I would buy it again and can recommend it.
