Review on πŸ”† Enhance Your Kitchen Lighting with POLARPRA Under Counter Motion Sensor LED Closet Lights: Rechargeable, Wireless, Stick-on Magnetic White Light Bar with 3 Working Modes by Allison Taylor

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Fancy features and limited installation options.

This cordless light seems to be designed for sterilization. It's not advertised in the product description, but the manual you get with it says it's "Rechargeable Smart Sterilization Light". It has both a normal white light mode and a "blue" mode which I believe is UV. The problem is that when using the motion detection setting, the white light only stays on for 10 seconds (unless it detects more motion) and then transitions into the 10 second ultraviolet stage. Once the blue light phase begins, the light will not "flip" to white light until the blue light phase is complete. It can get really annoying when you step out of your closet or pantry for a few seconds and then come back in, which we do quite often. When you leave the house, the light stops detecting movement and switches to ultraviolet. And if you step back and create movement, the light stays in UV mode. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable this automatic UV mode. We have this light in our pantry and I'm pretty sure 10 seconds of UV light isn't going to disinfect anything. So this feature is not only useless, but just annoying. The second big problem is the lack of mounting options. There is only one way to hang the lantern from the tape attached to the base of the lantern. The problem with this is that the tape only sticks to very smooth surfaces. I tried to hang the lamp on the wall in my panties painted with a very soft texture. And five minutes later the light and the mounting plate fell off. The good news is that the light is good enough to survive a two-meter drop onto a tiled floor. The bad news is that it just won't stick to the painted part of our wall. I ended up screwing a short piece of very smooth wood to the wall and then attaching the device to the wood. And while holding on. But it would be much better if the flashlight had two or three attachment options in addition to the adhesive tape. The third problem is that the light runs out quickly and needs to be charged quite often. We have two other lights with wireless motion detection and they both last much longer between charges. On the other hand, the light is quite bright. Bright enough to illuminate our pantry or small closet. And the device is quite durable, as evidenced by its fall to the concrete floor without a single scratch. The bottom line is that there are many other wireless motion-sensing lighting options on the market, and for the same or better price you can get one that offers better mounting options and doesn't have the pesky UV mode that keeps the light from falling off when you're gone, and then immediately return to the room you want to light up and hold the charge for a longer period of time.
