Our Missy Kitty likes her, although she still prefers the old one because it's padded. That would be the only downside of this scratching post, the lack of padding. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. She weighs around 12 pounds, making her ideal for large kittens. I think I could add some padding to the top 2 perches, it might make a difference for her, she really uses it and the top of the shelter is a great place to put her food bowl. We bought this when we got our new (big) pup as she needed something bigger to give her a secure out of reach seat. This is her favorite scratching post.
