Review on 🚰 Whirlpool Everydrop Ice and Water Refrigerator Filter, EDR5RXD1, Single-Pack by Danny Zapata

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Conforms to NSF/ANSI 401, 53 and 42 standards!

WATER QUALITY AND SAFETY I have a 2005 Whirlpool refrigerator and was looking for a filter that would meet NSF and ANSI standards to remove contaminants, not just improve taste. I had a hard time figuring out if this filter was standards compliant as the information I could find only said it was NSF certified and didn't list any specific standards or claims for each standard. This corresponds to NSF/ANSI 42 for taste ("aesthetic effect"), 53 for "health effects" and 401 for "emerging contaminants". I am attaching a picture of the NSF certification on the box that I received, but you can (and should) verify the certification and standards that Whirlpool claims by looking on the NSF website under an old Whirlpool NL240V model number look for the filter. I was concerned about atrazine (a pesticide I found in my water) and lead. FILTER COMPATIBILITY Several reviews mention that this filter does not replace part #4396508. My hot tub manual lists my part #4396508 and it fits. I entered my model number on the Whirlpool website to check compatibility. The top of my filter looked the same as the old one (#4396508 left by the previous owner). I don't know if there are any fakes or bad batches, but I bought mine direct from Revain and not a third party. OTHER NOTES * Changing the filter has really improved my water flow. * You must flush four gallons. --many--thru filters before first use.* Replace every 6 months.
