This was a little unexpected as I figured something mechanical should be better protected than this

The first unit that got to my house wasn't in the shipping box but was only sent in manufacturer's packaging. This was a little surprising as I thought something mechanical should be better protected. When I opened the box, I noticed that one of the wheels was not attached to the bottom at all. Also, the float that sits in the collection tank to indicate that the tank is full is separated (broken) on one side. I called the support number provided and they sent me a new dehumidifier without hesitation. (This time it was in the outer packaging). (They didn't want me to send the other device back. They said just leave it or discard it). This device has been working great for about a month now. It extracts a lot of moisture from the air quickly and thoroughly and is quite quiet at the same time. I'm happy with that. UPDATE: June 2018. I am happy with this product, but there is one big problem: it freezes HARD! I have had 3 other dehumidifiers (different brands) and have never had this one. I need to keep an eye on him so he doesn't try to work in a frozen state, which would surely kill him. He's not in a cold place so I don't know why this is happening. The only thing I see is that the filter, which looks well made, doesn't allow enough air to circulate in the back of the unit. I'm not sure, but if someone could shed some light and how to make it easier that would be great. UPDATE 3-2019 I think I figured out how to mitigate the freezing issue. I had the controls set to 'continuous' and apparently that was causing the problem. Cont turned off and hasn't hung up since. The device turns on and off quite often, but so far it hasn't bothered me much. Let's see how it goes when it gets hot and muggy. So far this seems to be working. 👍

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
