Large but very well designed Herb Keeper

The Goodful Herb Keeper is one of those kitchen gadgets that I've used way more than I expected. For years I've stored herbs either in the crisper in my bag or in a cup of water in the fridge. Herbs in sachets didn't last more than a week, while herbs in a cup of water sometimes lasted two. Goodful Herb Keeper has been keeping my herbs fresh for over two weeks now. The construction is simple: a tall glass vase contains a plastic lid with a rod in the middle and a strainer at the bottom to easily lift herbs. When the lid is lowered, the entire vase closes except for the vented top to allow some airflow. Grasses stay well-watered and in a moist environment, which increases their lifespan. The setup does a great job of keeping my herbs well hydrated and fresh. I've tested the Keeper with basil, parsley, cilantro, and scallions with great success - all of the herbs stayed fresh until I was ready to use them. For taller grasses I had to trim them to fit, but to be honest most fit with no problem. The vase looks big enough to even fit some celery, which I'll try one day. My only criticism of this particular holder is that it's very large - it was so big I couldn't keep it on the top shelf of my fridge, but it worked well enough in the door. The unit is approximately 12" tall from the bottom of the vase to the top handle, so measure before purchasing to ensure it will fit. Overall, this is a useful kitchen item that should ensure your herbs stay fresh and in good condition.
