I had a speaker that I used to listen to in the shower or while washing the car, it wasn't waterproof but it worked until my dog pushed it into the pool. And while the iLive isn't waterproof (I won't submerge it in water), I'm glad it's waterproof, so I can go back to listening to music with water in it. An accidental downpour or an accidental hose explosion won't harm him. It also has great sound, and what I like best is that it connects via USB (as well as Bluetooth and an aux port). I have a USB flash drive with thousands of songs on it and now I can just plug it into the back of the speaker. Much better than messing around with cables or syncing to my phone.
