Review on Bic Flex 4 Sensitive Hybrid Men's Razor - 4-Blade Disposable, 1 Handle with 4 Cartridges, offering an Exceptionally Smooth Shave by Amanda Thibault

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cheaper than 4X blades from Dallor Shave Club.

I bought these to replace the Dollar Shave Club (DSC) Executive Blade Subscription ($10 per month for 4 x 6 blade stainless steel cartridges) with the DSC price increase. It was definitely a cheaper option, but I understand it was more comparable to the DSC 4X blades (I've used both Executive and 4x from DSC). The BIC Flex 4 was still $2 cheaper than the DSC 4X blades. Overall I find the blades better suited for trimming sideburns and mustaches. The aloe strip is not as smooth compared to my DSC Executive blades and doesn't seem to cut deep and clean like the DSC Executive blades. I would say it's more of a 4X alternative. The DSC plan used to be cheaper, but the BIC Flex 4 is just as good at a lower price. The DSC 4X is $7 and the BIC Flex 4 is $5. You get a new razor handle every time you buy a product, unlike other places that give you replacement blades. I really wish BIC would allow you to only buy cartridges as it would be more environmentally friendly and less wasteful to just toss a perfectly fine razor handle in the trash. Pros: Affordable, comparable to DSC 4X, Reliable global brand, Good for a good haircut Cons: Cartridges are not sold separately from the pen, aloe strip is not that smooth, good for 3-4 light uses or 1-2 intensive uses.
