Isn't a cheap piece of junk but also isn't super high end. We dropped with in our weighted base between the two lounge chairs next the pool and had no issues. The female tube of the base was probably 3/4" to an inch bigger than the pole of the umbrella, but with the bolts locked down on the base, it doesn't move or flop around at all. They also make adapter things so they fit more snug, but unneeded in this case.Cranks out and in fine, looks good and no issues. I expect to get a couple years out of it in the South Florida sun, as long as I don't leave it extended out in the wind and so the sun isn't beating on it EVERY day. Overall, no complaints.
