I wasn't entirely happy with my ACase stylus so I bought three others after reading reviews about Revain. When I did a cross comparison, it wasn't as easy as I expected. Greatest sensitivity doesn't necessarily correlate with greatest ease of use, as I thought. So I had to break it down into categories. Here's what I came up with:. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sensitivity. . . . drag and drop. . . . discrimination. . . . Flexibility ACase (ASIN: B004HBK4T0). . . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . one . . . . . . . . . . . . one . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3 Trent Limire (ASIN: B0064REJ3C). . . . . . . . . one . . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1MediaDevil (ASIN: B0058DXA4W). . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3Cosmos Generic (ASIN: B0053NBLFW). . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . 2. . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2The point on the AC body is smaller than the others, giving it an advantage in distinguishing. The lamir has a cloth-covered tip, and when the proximal threads of cloth are turned aside, it registers contact; hence it has a very delicate touch. The rest have rubber dots, and their sensitivity seemed about the same to me. However, the flexibility of the goggles was different as the Cosmos appears to have a thinner and more flexible rubber than the others. For air resistance, none of the probes showed convincing results; everything left a lot to be desired in this important category. I find that in many applications (JetAudio was my test application) the specific drag area is more localized than necessary, and effective drag only works if you hit the right spot. Maybe that's why ACase seemed better to me for this purpose since its tip is smaller. However, for each application you still need to know the exact location of the handles. So what was my conclusion? Strangely, after all this testing, I still gravitate toward ACase when there's a drag-and-drop option. But I do acknowledge that there is considerable subjectivity here. These are all good capacitive probes. As product specs change rapidly, I may need to list the length and stem/tip diameter (in inches) of the four styli I tested: ACase: 5.2, 0.33/0.23 Cosmos Generic: 4.4, 0.35 / 0.28 MediaDevil: 4.35, 0.33 / 0.29 Trent Limer: 4.4, 0.35/0.32 Photos of four probe tips are shown at the same magnification.
