To be honest I plugged it in and set it up before even looking at the instructions that came with it. Only the power supplies and micro-USB cables need to be connected. He earned as soon as he was fed. After a few hours the display unit was fully charged (I left the display on the whole time to test it). I was then able to use it unplugged for three hours, but I went to bed and put it back on the charger. I tried the camera at one end of my house and the screen can still receive at the other end (about 60 feet with three interior walls separating the blocks. When the room is dark the camera automatically switches to night view and then that's it black and white.but clearly visible..the angle of the screen isn't fantastic.in the horizontal position it runs from about 45 degrees in either direction from center but looks much better looking straight ahead.smaller.ptz features are pretty good.Camera is silent when it moves.Zoom is digital, there's on/off.You press the zoom and it digitally zooms in a bit to the center of the picture.Camera can be rotated 350 degrees from left to right and since the camera can be viewed from an angle, you can see all 360 degrees around the camera, it takes 39 seconds to traverse the full 350 degree range, by my estimates it can be tilted about 40 degrees up and about 20 degrees down. It's a shame because a more downward tilt would probably be more useful for a camera designed to be used as a baby monitor. The controls are easy to use. The lullaby mode doesn't sound very good in my opinion since the speaker on the camera isn't perfect. It's functional. This is a good baby monitor. Setup is easy, the controls are easy to use, and everything works well. The reason I'm rating it 4 stars instead of 5 is that a better tilt (downward) would make sense for this camera as it makes a lot of sense to place it on a shelf or other relatively high spot.
