I like the smaller size because it doesn't take up much space on my worktop. I use it mainly for making cards and it cuts cardboard, even the heavier, nicer and square ones. The blade "clings" as it were when raised, but this does not affect the quality of the cut. The only complaint I have is that it's difficult to know where to cut when you want to cut in the exact spot. When I need to cut something that doesn't need to be measured, I use my Fiskars 12-inch rotary paper cutter.
