I'm a strong believer in several types of filters. In some of my aquariums I use both a hanging filter (HOB) and a sponge filter. I do this so that in the event of a power outage I can turn off my air pumps and plug in battery powered air pumps that work with foam filters. I also use a battery powered air pump that I tie to a bucket that I often use to transport fish. What I REALLY LOVE about this Hygger 2.5W rechargeable air pump is that it is powered (USB) but also has an internal rechargeable battery. A battery that turns on automatically when the device is turned off. Using these Hygger air pumps is my next step in emergency preparedness for my fishing hobby. I plan to eventually add one to each tank so that in the event of a power outage when I'm away from home (I often travel for work) I know that my sponge filter air pumps will automatically switch to standby power and continue working. run! It has two outlets which I use to power two large sponge filters in a 55g tank. I am pleased that it has sufficient airflow even when running on battery power. It also comes with two check valves (which every fish farmer should use), a USB power cord and two air hoses (I don't know how long it's been since I just used my existing hoses. Great item!
