Definitely a solid mount, mostly all metal, some plastic parts (non-structural parts) so it's very strong and can hold a lot of weight. Easy assembly and installation; You have the option to clamp it like I did or mount it tight! to the desktop (sorry I had to). There is excellent cable management built into the arms and I love the gas struts for height adjustment! I freaked out for a second because I had my 17" Dell LCD monitor attached to an arm (quite heavy for today's monitors) and it couldn't support its weight! For a minute I thought my monitor was defective or too heavy, but I realized they are adjustable and you simply use the included allen wrench to increase or decrease the weight limit (20+ lb limit). One thing I didn't do The problem with this unit is that the center mount doesn't have forward or reverse adjustment (almost the only reason I gave it four stars). So if you are sitting in a corner like me there is no way to install a center monitor as there is no free space. And even if it doesn't, with all the lateral flexibility the left and right have, it's a shame you don't have a lot of positioning options other than pulling it out all the way to reveal your average monitor. So, after some thought and trying to make an extension with my own hands, I found a tricky "cheat" and went to the Mount-It! and found the only monitor mount that looks almost exactly like the arms on this one. I couldn't find one exactly like the two on this one. But it looked like the picture in the listing had the same rod mount as the middle one that comes with the unit and I think I spent $65 and took the risk. It turns out yes! Just like that. The lever design is slightly different and does not have a quick release tab. But it's the same color and with a gas strut! As if it should belong! Even if my desk is not in a corner, I would like this maneuverability/freedom for a middle monitor like left and right, for a possible monitor upgrade at some point or, for example, the extension to a standing workstation. Has the meaning! The only thing about this mount is that there are more plastic components in the hand and the hand itself isn't that strong so it feels like it flexes more but still remains solid. Now I love the corner table! ;) In one of the four pictures I've added, the third hand can be seen in the middle. I definitely recommend replacing the middle mount with a single monitor mount. It costs $65 more and I was hesitant, but I realized there's not much you can do yourself unless you have lots of DIY options and time. But once you have it there, you'll see that it's worth it!
