I received these pads today and although I have not used them I am sure they will protect me as they are made of kevlar material and cover my lower body. However, after trying them on, I found out that the pants don't hold up well even with a wide belt and a wide buckle at the back, the belt slips out of the buckle when worn. I tried a personal belt that I have and I can wear it over my pants and it will work, but the sad thing is I don't have to improvise to make it work. When you make a product, you make sure it works properly. You can't have the body protection that is so important with a chainsaw, and it can't fall off your hips when you're sawing, an accident is inevitable. I can't give this product 5 stars because they poorly designed the strap that holds those heavy kevlar chaps. UPDATE August 11th 2017 I found in my closet a large tool strap very similar to the ones attached to chaps and it had a ring on it (see you wear that. Tried it the strap won't come off if part, which I don't know the name of is probably 5 cents and if they add it to the chaps strap the strap will be safe from falling off you get the boys they are nothing like the picture that other reviewers have found MISREPRESENTATION of this item on Revain.
