Choose ceramic over glass; if you don't like to eat glass. Glass is CHEAP.

Another customer had a glass chip (4 months ownership) although I treat these things like they are made out of egg shells. glass is glass; even if it is thick, splinters can still break off relatively easily. They looked so cool (bamboo oOoOo) and felt eco-friendly etc. so I'm very disappointed and will buy CERAMIC storage ware: Ceramic has a crystalline molecular structure. Structure; Ceramic is stronger than glass of the same thickness and more resistant to heat and temperature changes.
