The first thing I did when I received this adapter was test it with an ohmmeter (using a MM 4 pin cable) to see , how he reduced 4 signals to 3. I was a little surprised that all 4 poles go straight through this adapter to the 4 poles on the other side, no shorting of the poles. It didn't take long for this former EE to realize that what I was holding was a 4 pin (TRRS) to 4 pin (TRRS) short MF extension cable. I suggest testing this cable before using it. I gave them an extra star because they are very easy to return.
