Review on Cell Phone Ring Light with Touch Control & Mic Holder - Perfect for Laptop Camera Photography & Video Lighting by Kelly Noonan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Some quality issues but works as intended.

Edit 11/16/2018: It looks like the faulty 6-port hub it was connected to caused the lights to flicker. Works well at various brightness settings from 2 amp outlets. Rating increased from 3 to 4 due to poor equipment. I use it as a flashlight for video calls that can last many hours. Is carried out on request. Light has a basic memory. Remembers what mode and brightness were used the last time you powered off and connected to the network. It resets when disabled, which isn't a huge problem. The only thing I'm not happy with today is that the rectangular section that holds the microphone and cellphone isn't flush with the base, so stands a few degrees slightly counter-clockwise and can't be altered because of the handset with a slight indentation so it doesn't rotate (which would be great if it were properly aligned). The nut holding the tube to the plastic base is tight and cannot be removed with moderate force. I didn't want to damage it so it stays rotated. It's okay, but if you have OCD, it can drive you crazy. Initial Rating: Item received in plain brown packaging. The metal plate has been fixed or separated from the plastic part. This caused the metal plate to hit the base of the flexible plastic heads and push them in. Fortunately, the lamp itself was not damaged. However, when connected to the USB port, the indicator sometimes only lit up briefly. I need to connect it to another USB. It seems to work well with 2.4 amp and higher outlets, but with 2 amp outlets it was intermittent, some flickering and some not.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • So-so

Nice and light, not very sturdy with new large phones tends to lean, requires fiddling to balance
