Not visible in the pictures but this adapter has a single TRRS headphone jack, no separate headphone/microphone jacks. You need a headphone/microphone splitter cable (stereo TRS+TRS to TRRS) to connect separate devices to this adapter. I couldn't use it because my mic has a 2-wire monaural connector (tip-to-sleeve, TS) which makes it incompatible with all the splitter cables I could find. and it worked fine. Adjusting the volume of the microphone or headphones via the buttons was very slow, and there was no audible or visual feedback when pressing the buttons or the minimum / maximum level. It didn't have enough power to drive a pair of Sennheiser headphones up to the right volume, even with the source and adapter set to 100%. The 7.1 simulation button did not affect the sound of Destiny 2 on PS4. Otherwise the sound quality was good. I used the ASUS Xonar U3 adapter again, which has separate headphone/mic jacks and works with the mono mic jack, but has no mic mute or a way to adjust the volume on the adapter itself.
