I used these to upgrade my network HTIB setup which consisted of tiny 3 inch satellite speakers. I didn't expect much from them. Well they sound amazing. They completely demolish the old speakers. No bass. They're not designed for that, but the detail they give is nothing short of amazing. Voices are transmitted very well. the high ones are not sibilants at all, they play purely like a whistle. Cross them off at 100Hz, hook them up to a small woofer that can play high frequencies and you can get really (and I mean really) solid sound for the money. They also work great for surround speakers. not paired with a subwoofer they are not as good and sound like tin cans. Just keep your expectations under control, don't expect crazy results. for desktop speakers they sound pretty loud. funny, right after i bought them and heard what they are capable of i bought air b652. Yes. about these.
