I purchased a set of 50 8.9" cable ties to securely attach wrought iron pots and umbrellas to my balcony railing. The zip ties won't sit in the sun all day, but I really like them. additional benefit of UV protection. These zip ties were so easy to use and perfect for the job! I attached three heavy 4 foot wrought iron pots to the balcony railing. Adults walk and kids play nearby, so for my peace of mind I used seven wire ties for each planter. The zip ties are thick, strong and hold tight. I could probably use two per planter, but better safe than sorry. I also attached two parasols to the same balcony railing. each post at the top, middle and bottom of the railing for stability.
