Review on Headphone Jack Removal Tool - Headphone Plug Extractor with Multiple Tube Sizes and Jack Remover by Adam Bates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes it works!

The whole tip of the headphone jack broke off in my phone. I've tried many different DIY ways to remove the jack but nothing I've tried has worked to remove the stuck jack. Knowing that this tool might not work, I decided buying it and trying anyway as some of the reviewers had success. I also bought a small hammer after reading, What other reviewers say is that the small hammer has enough weight to push the pipe deep enough without breaking it. At first I tried to gently pound the short tube and couldn't seem to get enough to squeeze the tube enough to grab the jack and pull it out. I tried putting it in a couple of times before finally deciding to use small pliers to get a better grip to pull it out. Bad idea, I ended up crushing the top part of the tube and had a very hard time getting it off, even with pliers! When I finally made it pulling out the phone it was empty, the plug was still in my phone. I switched to a long pipe and gently hammered it back in with a hammer. To crush the second pipe, I hit the hammer several times, twisting and pulling the pipe with my fingers. Eventually a small piece of the jack broke off in the tube and I pulled it out. I repeated this process a few more times and was able to get the second large part of the bushing out. There was still a large chunk of the jack trapped inside and I tried a few more times to get it out without success. If you look at the attached picture, the largest piece of the jack stays inside with a narrow top. I managed to pull it out a little and then tried pull it out completely with tweezers. It took a few tries, but eventually I got a good grip on the tweezers and the last large piece of the latch fell out! Patience, repetition, gentleness, and ingenuity are definitely required for this tool to work, but it works. JOB! I've tried several times to get it off with no success.
