Replacement Jeep CJ Dash Fuel Level Sensor

This sensor is fitted as a direct replacement for the original Stewart Warner sensor. I have to calibrate it as does everyone who installs it, be it a fuel level sensor or a temperature sensor. I installed it with a compatible long life ridge temp sensor and temp sender unit and fuel tank sender unit. According to the manufacturer, the temporary ban on transmission required a change in the connections. I called them after installation when all I saw was a temp gauge reading a cold temp and asked for advice. Following her advice, it worked. Both gauges will work but will need to be calibrated to read correctly, but this will be the case with any installation. Install these gauges as a kit as they are 12 volt replacements and should not be mixed with the original 5 volt gauges. Install according to the original configuration and observe the results. Make sure the installation is correct and do not accidentally touch the bolts with the block when tightening the jam nuts. Plastic insulators should separate the bolts from the block. Replace all cables with the original to check this. Replace all factory sockets. Add a ground to the mounting block bolt if not present. Ensure the instrument-to-cluster and cluster-to-dash mounting surfaces are free of corrosion. If the gauges are blank and the pointer is stuck on one or both gauges, call OMIX-ADA or CROWN (whoever made the product) and ask them for advice before switching Port A to Port S yourself switched the A and S connectors on the temp gauge as he had just tied his needle after I called the tech for advice. Don't take it upon yourself regardless of your experience, it's better to take their advice if something goes wrong as they have to change their word. But 12 volt displays should work if installed and wired correctly. All I had to do was replace the original copper jumper and make stranded wires with ring connectors crimped to the appropriate length. Make sure the new jumper opens all connections and is live. Everything will be fine, just be careful.
