These socks fully correspond to the description! I was arguing about choosing a size 6-8 as my 5 year old wears bigger shoes for his age (12c) but the 4-6 socks fit him perfectly. It's a very thick material, just like my favorite adult wool socks that I buy from Costco. After a two-hour hike, my son didn't complain of cold feet, like in cotton socks.
