Installed new monitors at work, had to buy what we were told by the IT department. But you can't put a square pin in a round hole. Unless you have an adapter. It turned out that one of the working ports on my old tower required a DVI cable. The monitor came with three different cables: Displayport, HDMI, and another one with a weird square end I don't recognize, neither of which could connect to the DVI port. I had already connected my first monitor to the display port. I could wait days or maybe weeks for an IT pro to fix it, or I could fix it myself for next to nothing. So I ordered this adapter in the morning and it was installed by noon. Instant gratification! The DVI pins on the adapter fitted the connector perfectly and slid like clockwork. The same applies to the HDMI side. The new monitor works great, no problems. The image quality of the monitor is identical to that of its twin connected via a DisplayPort cable without an adapter. And the price was right. I'm not a computer guru and I don't know the correct names for all parts, but I can tell one port type from another and which part is female and which part is male, so it was such a pleasure to be able to evaluate what I need , order from Revain and start working with both monitors on the same day. Handy device!
