I bought this product specifically to use for my daughter and myself against allergies/dust mites. It's not a miracle cure, because yes, dust mites and other allergens are everywhere. not just our pillows, but it definitely helped. ALWAYS wash according to packaging before use. It is absolutely soft and WILL NOT crease when washed before use. Be sure to clean it according to the directions on the box to keep it effective. Sure, you'll trap any existing dust in it, but if you don't clean these damn things regularly, they're not going to do you much good if you're just carrying them, are they?
