Review on Zecti Waterproof Retractable Equipment Mirrorless by Paul Haswood

Just the right number of compartments for a retro takeaway bag!

I didn't buy this bag for my camera but to carry a retro styled game console with me. Needless to say I made the right choice because this bag was just the right size. As you can see from my photos, this bag was big enough to fit my Retropy in a SNES case, 2 Dualshock 4 controllers, an HDMI cable and a hard drive case. with lots of tech extras, two 10ft micro USB cables, portable keyboard, power adapter and power cord. It was a bit cramped inside because I initially placed the controllers, both micro USB cables were in external pockets on either side of the bag, but I managed. The controller, Retropie, HDMI cable, and hard drive all fit perfectly in the open-expansion central storage compartment, even with the 10-foot cables pushed against the sides of the bag. The bag comes with a pair of velcro foam mounts that are supposed to hold the camera in place, but I took them out because I didn't need them. It also came with something like a pocket poncho to protect it from the rain but I didn't see the need for that as I see no need to wear it in the rain. A poncho is a good accessory if you take your camera with you when you travel and don't want to worry about getting it wet. However, the label on the bag says it's waterproof, but I haven't tested it, so I'm not sure if that's true. I really like the durable rubberized texture at the bottom of the bag. It's good to know that you can place the bag on rough/dirty surfaces without worrying about damaging the bag or its contents. I wish there was a little more room in the top compartment to stow the PSU and power cord because it was cramped. fits, and I might have trouble installing it if I upgrade to a hardwired PSU, but I'll worry about that in the future. What I like least about this case is how loud the flash is. They ring every time you move the bag and after a while it gets annoying. I might end up covering the zippers with flexible caulk or some other material to make the noise a little less annoying.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Not everything fits
