There are better options

I bought these to experiment with storage solutions in our frequently flooded basement (6 inches of water = uninteresting). We stored some things in plastic bags but some of them had mold inside. I wanted to reduce the space baby clothes take up in each bag to try to fit more clothes in the bags while eliminating the risk of mold/fungus on the clothes. Advertisement - it sucks the clothes and reduces the space they take up. However, the space it frees up is minimal. You need to carefully fold the clothes to make the bag shrink evenly. Space that is unusable and inefficient. And I can hardly fit more clothes in the same bag than if I just folded the clothes and crushed them in the bag. I suppose it would be like putting them in a suitcase too...it's better to just roll and mash the clothes around the room without the inflexibility of vacuum bags. Then I ordered these big zip packs (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product /B07XBDG2ZL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which cost MUCH less money. I still had to carefully fold and seal the bags, but I can release almost the same amount of air as these vacuum bags by kneeling before zipping. And enough air stays in the pockets to make them flexible enough to fill and shrink nooks and crannies. I had a few of these when they were very busy but for the price it's worth it.
