I liked the large display and the plastic case is pretty solid. I bought it because of the instant read feature. This is NOT an instant read thermometer, it took longer to register the temperature than my analog thermometer. It was very difficult to detach the probe for use. I pried it open with a screwdriver and then couldn't get it back in the clip. I most likely won't be using it for baking - bread can be picky about temperatures and takes too long to register.
