Improves the performance of the microphone, but nothing with a dead head is used.
I tried it as a preamp for the microphone included in my citizen base station. It didn't amplify the deadhead mic, so I hooked up an active mic to it. Then a little magic happened. This gave the power microphone more power and hi-fi sound. I get compliments for AM and SSB. Also prepare some ferrite beads for the line to the radio. Rudedog 255 West Georgia.
