So I finally decided on this purchase based on a YouTube video review of this glass and suitcase dryer also published by Lyman. I wanted to get a glass of Frankfurt Arsenal but their case dryer is rubbish. Unpacking and installation was easy. Fill reservoir halfway with boxes, about 400 .223 boxes half done, 600 boxes 3/4 full, empty all steel pins, pour hot water directly over boxes, add 1 ounce of detergent included in kit . Solution, unscrew the lid, set the timer to 3 hours and wait. 1000 cases are nonsense! Can 800 MAX. It's definitely a stretch. If you overfill it, the crates won't have enough room to actually tumble and crash against the pegs as intended. Resist the impulse to fill it over 75% full with .223 cases. FYI, I have NOT cut the refill or resized the .223 cases. So the primer pockets still have to be worked on, but that has nothing to do with this wet wiper drum. Produce cleaner trays than my dry media drum. There are additional steps compared to tumble drying, but the end result is better. I used a Frankfurt Arsenal wet and dry tumbler to separate the steel pins and excess water from the shells. My Lyman crate dryer hasn't arrived yet so I just put a towel on the floor to dry the crates and put another towel on top for a quick hand dry. 4 Star Level * UPDATE: A small 4 ounce cleaning solution does a good job of cleaning the cases. After it ran out after two washes I used regular Dawn dish soap and Lemi Shine Soft Water Booster. HOLY SHIT, my shells look like bright and shiny yellow GOLD! Forget about 3 hours, ONE-TWO HOURS will give you gold cases. Dryer for suitcases Lyman and Wallah. Dry acrobatics is blah blah, whatever. Lead dust in the air is not cool. Wet acrobatics without Lemi Shine is definitely a noticeable improvement over the dry method. Very clean but not GOLD. Two tablespoons of Dawn and one teaspoon of Lemi Shine is the answer to all of life's problems. No exaggeration. • Wet Acrobatics Warning: I'm sure this seems self-evident, but be sure to separate your cases, particularly 9mm from 40, and any pistol cases from rifle cases. The 9's fit into the 40's leaving the joined cases less clean and also preventing the steel pins from moving. 9mm cases will jam in 5.56 caliber cases and cause discoloration in the neck and shoulder area of the rifle body. Resist the urge to just throw in some mixed mussels. RESIST! I removed the primer from several cases leaving the primer pockets clean.
