To assess the fit as I don't have children. I bought them for a local school that was asking for a snowshoe donation. They needed almost 60 pairs in a size 4. So I ordered a size up not knowing if they needed a toddler, infant or kids. But the lining of the boot was very soft and warm. I ran my hand over it and it looks like a good job has been done to keep it from tearing too quickly. The soles have a really good profile so they shouldn't slip that easily on ice or snow. Although without spikes it is difficult to stay on the ice. The outer part is made of faux leather/PVC so it can be easily washed,
