I first ordered a large play mat but then realized our living room couldn't accommodate a mat of this size. I've spent days looking for a small gaming pad that's really high quality and doesn't cost more than $250. It also fitted the small gaming grip we were looking for, which was difficult to find the right fit for. Our kid rode this mat both ways on hardwoods and thin carpet and it cushioned them very well. Yes, it will have some creases when you receive it, but that wasn't a problem for us. I'm glad I took the risk and bought it!
