It doesn't get any better for the price!

The Asus VH242H monitor is an excellent monitor in its price range. This monitor has vibrant colors and a beautiful picture. Sure, there are better monitors out there with these specs, but none in this price range. Compared to my previous monitor, the Acer AL2002W, this monitor is very bright (too bright! You will most likely need to adjust settings) and colors. Pop is amazing. while the Acer has dull, faded colors and is too dull (no way to make it bright enough). Unfortunately, the monitor's built-in speaker is on the back, so the audio output isn't aimed at your ear, so it's not the best choice for anything where sound matters, or for gaming or listening to music. or to watch movies. But that is completely sufficient for an office monitor. Otherwise, stick with your desktop speakers or whatever sound you have. Okay, one of the biggest complaints about this monitor is the adjustment buttons on the control panel. I also have a little trouble pressing these buttons because they are angled and rounded. And because the monitor stand doesn't raise the monitor more than 3 inches or so. Speakers and other things on the side of the monitor so using those buttons with my hand on the side means moving things around. However, once you've found the settings that suit your needs, there really isn't much left to adjust the settings though You can use different great modes, I just stick with the default mode with sRGB color temperature, looks very good, and from web surfing to gaming to photo editing, I don't have to adjust the settings at all, I've had no problems with the monitor at all, no dead pixels, no flickering very well packaged so no damage in transit. Gray flickering too. Connected in DVI-a mode and fully satisfied. Now we just have to see how it holds up over time.
