Review on Wella Blondor Multi Blonde Powder Lightener - 28.2 oz: Enhance Your Haircolor Results! by Sharon Mitchell

If you want to bleach, use Wella.

Wellll. I finally found the courage to lighten my hair with this product. Stirred, stood, wondered for an extra minute because I have practically no experience outside of the boxes, decided to just work with the bottom half and leave the roots for another day. I went with the 6% (20 Volume) developer as many have suggested (after much research). Wella Koleston Perfect 6 Cream, because the combination of these two components is known by real professionals for its excellent results. I used the highly recommended 1:1.5 ratio (two scoops of powder, three equal scoops of developer). I'd say it was definitely worth paying the extra $40-$50 for professional chemicals. After letting it sit for about 50 minutes, I washed my hair twice with TIGI Color Goddess Shampoo and left the TIGI Color Goddess Conditioner in for a hot minute. I can say my hair is damaged because it's inevitable when you do these treatments, but the damage done is far less than any box I've used in the past. I'm pleasantly surprised because my longest hair has gone through two more processes, but somehow it just seems coarser while retaining the desired smoothness and shine. The lift Wella Blondor gave me was amazing. If I actually did the top half and roots I know they would come out clean (may need to be tinted of course). However, due to my personal hair history, I unfortunately have to repeat this in my tips. Hair Story: Dyed black 1.5 years ago but faded to dark brown/my natural color. I used a box of medium blonde about 4 months ago to lighten my hair like dull and simply damaged hair. Currently on a bleaching app and will be waiting at least a week before trying the full body app. I'll update when I finally find out where I'm going.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Low repairability
